The Wayne County 8th Grade Boys Basketball team was named Gold Bracket Champions at the Kentucky Basketball Commission (KBC) State Tournament, held in Lexington from January 31 – February 2nd. The Cardinals defeated Mayfield in the bracket championship game by a final score of 40-36. Wayne County was led in scoring by Kooper Gehring with 13 points and Gabe Wright with 12. Tate Bertram and Bryson Ayers had 6 each, and Teddy Simmons had 3.

Wayne County Archery Teams competed in competition last Saturday at Taylor County.

Wayne County students, in collaboration with the South Central Arts Council, took center stage at the much-anticipated Monticello's Got Talent. This exciting event, held on Saturday, January 18th, at 6:00 p.m., provided a platform for students ranging from elementary to high school to exhibit their unique talents.

The Wayne County Middle School Academic Team showcased its brilliance at the Monroe County Middle School District competition. WCMS triumphed in the quick recall event, remaining undefeated in a double-elimination format against all competing teams.

Wayne County Middle School Dance Team placed first in both Jazz and Pom divisions at KDCO Regionals and several solos and duets placements.
